A three day, practical, wet lab training course ideally suited to both the surgeon with limited experience wishing to expand their practice and benefit from education concerning surgical technique; and those looking to expand and enhance their knowledge of reconstructive hip arthroscopy techniques. The format of the meeting will be predominantly hands-on with a small amount of the day spent on discussions with a high delegate to faculty ratio. All aspects of arthroscopic hip surgery will be considered from the fundamentals through to the more advanced techniques. Days one and two will cover the supine and lateral approaches, set-up, instrumentation considerations, patient anatomy, portal placement, access to the central and peripheral compartments and iliotibial band, knot-tying, loose body removal, microfracture, chondroplasty, synovectomy, cam excision, acetabular recession and post-operative management. Day three will then move onto acetabular recession (direct and perilabral), posterior impingement, labral reattachment (from central and peripheral compartments), labral grafting, capsular plication & repair, iliopsoas tenotomy, ITB lengthening, trochanteric bursectomy, gluteus medius repair, excision of pectineofoveal impingement, the undistractable hip and removing an os acetabular.
