Course:Shoulder 2 Shoulder Meeting
Date:27 - 27 April 2018
Course convened by:Susan Alexander, Fortius Clinic, UK
Details:This course is aimed at consultants and fellows with an interest in shoulder surgery.

The Watanabe Club proudly announce the sixth Shoulder 2 Shoulder meeting. This unique one-day conference made its first debut in 2008 and was a runaway success. It tore up the manuscript for the typical medical conference and broke new ground on many different levels creating a buzz amongst the shoulder community in the UK and abroad.

Shoulder 2 Shoulder 2018 is based on shoulder pathology throughout the 7 different stages of life. The format of the meeting will include presentations from UK and International faculty to stimulate active participation from all attendees and some lively debate!

The meeting will cover the following

Highly interactive case based discussions
Current controversial topics
Reflective assessment of individual practice for annual appraisal
Mass Debate: ‘What’s the Point of Shoulder Surgery?’
Two landmark papers concluded that arthroscopic subacromial decompression and SLAP repair surgery had no added clinical benefit. These papers will be presented for discussion by the authors
Arthroscopic subacromial decompression for subacromial shoulder pain (CSAW): a multicentre, pragmatic, parallel group, placebo-controlled, three-group, randomised surgical trial
Sham surgery versus labral repair or biceps tenodesis for type II SLAP lesions of the shoulder: a three-armed randomised clinical trial
